Bestest Cheapest Cellphone Ever.
Our US cell phone, with Verizon, roams in my wife's hometown in Louisiana. Otherwise it works great, even in Hawaii or anywhere I went. So on a recent trip the $1 a minute started adding up quick, and we had a busy time with lots of calls. So I got a $20 cellphone at Target and it is awesome. The Motorola C139 has way more features than my LG3200, even though it is a GSM phone which I don't usually prefer but now I do except in PEI my GSM signal is weak.
So, anyway the phone is called a Tracphone. You can pick any zip code in America and get a number assigned to your phone from that place. Buy your prepaid minutes in a big $50 or up chunk and the rates go lower than 20cents a minute. And the expiration of your minutes is 60 days out with your firts card and get this - your second prepaid refill extends the minutes expiry out to up to 120 days in advance! That means this phone will still work if we visit the states in 4 months.
Finally, for the real kick-a-boom the thing roams in PEI so I can send and recieve calls and text messages. The text messages are 6cents each (US). Isn't that cheaper than any other text service from Aliant or Rogers?
