How to Enroll in a French School, in English

Here is a website that explains everything you need to know to find out which school, which program, and if you meet the criteria...par example si vous parle francais a chez nous. We don't very often, but we try to speak a little french and listen to a lot of french kids songs. Does that count? Hmmm.

I don't know how old your child is, but a number of Anglos have started their children in the daycare and kindergarten at the French schools. The entry rules are less stringent than the rules for grade 1. This gives the student a head start in learning French, and helps them gain a spot in the mainstream French program starting at grade 1, even if the parents speak little or no French.
I would think you would have a better quality of French instruction, not to mention smaller class size, in the French schools, rather than in early or late immersion at an English school.
Disadvantages would include the student and parents possibly not fitting into tightly-knit French milieu, and less choice in courses, labs, etc. Other advantages include much greater chance of your child winning a scholarship at graduation time, as they are often allocated one per school, and there are extra ones for French-speaking students.
