Unlimited Text Messaging

Telus has a prepaid phone, with a full keyboard, for $99 that includes one year of free text messaging. You have to maintain your $10 top up every month to keep the phone active.

You can send messages (280 charactors max) to and from email addresses (9029541234@msg.telus.com). It is like a tiny baby Blackberry, a very cheap contract free smaller baby blackberry.

So the initial price is $99, plus $10 x 12 months is $120, total of $210 for a year of unlimited text messaging. At 10 cents a message that means I'd have to send 2100 messages which means after 5.7 messages a day you'd pay less than what it costs now. If you are testing system notifications to your phone and have that many messages about how your servers are running then I guess it is worth it.

Also, I think you can send picture messages, how futuristical.
