Going West? Take Your Cable TV With You
If you have highspeed internet you can get a device called a Slingbox which I described installing on this blog. The Slingbox plugs into your cable TV or Antenna wire in PEI, and of course it needs to have a connection to your high speed internet. Then when you travel (to Alberta?) you just get online and run the SlingPlayer software on your PC. You can change channels on the tuner built in to the Slingbox, and watch your TV stations from PEI. The quality is great, with no skips and smooth sound, it likes to run at 900Kbps on my connection, but will even play at data rates as low as 200Kbps (when I bog down my connection with other downloads). Costs about $200 dollars, got it on Ebay.ca
