The Power Was Out When I Wrote This

I've been thinking of getting a UPS - Uninterruptible Power Supply for when the power goes off.
At 12:30 Friday Sept 1 the power is out at my house in Tyne Valley. So I plugged in my Aliant DSL modem to my Eliminator and it syncs up - plugged my ethernet into my notebook and I am online in the dark. So this important blog could be posted! I hope it was a planned work outage and not a car wrapped around a pole.
