The Y2K Factor: Global Warming Over Reaction

The year 2000 computer problems where overstated, we over reacted and nothing happened. We over prepared. Global warming has our attention now. It is a legitimate concern, only I think we are all over it and technical solutions are very close to solving the causes of global warming. We haven't won, but we are going to have solutions to manage global warming and they will be effective and every one will use them. We are about to take the heat out lightbulbs, use winter cold for summer cooling, and travel lightly and fast. It is an exciting time. It is the cooling of the industrial age. Steam and soot meet air and light.

The long term issues like nuclear waste or groundwater purity will haunt us for a long time but I think global warming is the first clearly addressed big danger . World sized problems that we know of. Damage now goes more noticed on all scales large and small, our awareness is changing our course.
