NDP & Green: Split The Vote

Ralph Nader voters probably would have voted for Gore making him president and the Iraq war averted; so can we blame the Iraq war on Nader? Green and NDP voters probably would vote Liberal in the election Monday. So if any close seats are lost with small margins that could be made up by the votes to the NDP & Green and more islanders die of industrial farm cancer - can we blame the NDP & Green?

On another tangent, will the NDP & Green together get more votes than just the NDP would have? Probably yes. More fringe parties, especially if they have different policies, mean morenmainstream parties lose votes. If PEI had a fringe right wing party to erode conservative support, maybe they that would balance the fringe party vote loss to both Liberals and Conservatives.

In any case vote for somebody.

The difference between this and the 2000 US election is that the two main parties really are interchangeable.

I'm finding it very hard to get excited about one set of unwise spending plans vs. another.

According to Don Mills, a pollster, the green party is bleeding support from the Conservatives!
