Dialup Shock: Part 3 - The Suckening

Mike at 800-565-4737, 4,2,1 is great, he tried so hard to get my DSL to work. Except Aliant the giant didn't budge. We discovered, along with Denis the manager, that my Nortel 1Meg Modem (ADSL) had been disco'ed at th Central Office. The twist is the new PPPoE crapbox replacement won't be ready unitl Nov 9. Or longer.
So Aliant broke my old one two weeks before the new one (which sucks shit) is ready - leaving me high and dry!

Now, why the new onew sucks: It needs software installed on my PC to connect. I only pray my Linksys router can do that, because I have between 5-7 PC's on my LAN at home The beautiful thing about the 1Meg Modem was the nearly static IP address. I could reach my home LAN from anywhere when I travelled. I could run every port I wanted.

Anyway, I wish I could get a cable modem but in the country my sole option is Aliant.

Oh Aliant, how you have fucked me so. Please don't make me wait till November!
