PR vs. FPTP: Forget both

I'd rather see a random citizen elected - from a list of anyone who gets a few signatures. Or how about giving a seat in our provincial government to a high school student - they could serve a one year term and then a new student would be elected.
Or maybe to get on the list of PR candidates you would have to meet certain criteria, such as never having held office, and being under the age of 30?
I'm just trying to come up with something better than electing someone chosen by the parties - aren't they bound to be hacks and won't that add to the corruption?
