Dialup Shock: Part 2

My Aliant DSL is broken because the Nortel 1Meg Modem is no longer supported, and they turned them all off. Aliant is going to give me a new one, someday ( Monday?). 50 hours without service, except dialup which is ranging from 26Kb to 38Kb each time I call.
