Woodsmoke Smells Like Home

Oh the toxic carcinogens, damn them for being in woodsmoke! My brain likes the smell of woodsmoke, it conjures up images of camping and also winter and the comfort of a warm fire on cold nights. There are Canadian patriotic feelings somewhere in the woodsmoke I smell faintly on my jacket.

And then there is the kid's asthma and gone along with the teddy bears, carpet and other triggers is our woodstove. It sits unused now in the backroom. Ready in case of massive long term electric grid failures to be re-installed. I can't wait until summer and camping, and the campfire.
