This was the first big freeze of my new submersible well pump, I was wondering if the water line to the house would freeze. I did cheat and leave the tap dripping a bit so it would cycle on thru the night a few times and move some water thru the pipe.
Our old convertible jet pump was prone to freeze up, meaning some cursing in the cold with a torch and wrench and waiting for it to thaw, hoping it wouldn't crack.
Go submersible! My only worry is because my pressure switch is by the tank in the utility room if it freezes then the pump, 80 feet down the well, might burn up running steady. I guess I'm overthinking this, I didn't stay awake all night worrying about it I actually slept well.
