Video Editing: Mac beats PC
Premiere Pro costs about $1000 for WindowsXP, Final Cut about the same for the Mac.
I spent a lot of time first with Premiere Pro, which I like. It works fine. It's just on the Mac everything is smoother, easier to understand, and has a more polished result. In my case I bought a Mac mini and it has changed the way I edit, mostly just speeding things along with less frustration.
In the end there is nothing that Final Cut can do that Premiere cannot do too, except maybe the titling is better quality on Final Cut. It is just Final Cut, plus the iDVD burner, are easier to use.
I used to tell people not to buy a Mac, stick with the herd and get XP, it is cheaper and easier. When it comes to video editing though, the Mac stands alone.
