Blogger: Putting HTML monkeys out of work.
So, you want a website, eh?
Call around for estimates, then wonder 'what kind of site do I want?', find out it costs a lot....
Just use Blogger. It's free, but you should really spend $6 a month and get a site of your own to host it on, with your very own sitename.com and email's for up to 1000 accounts@sitename.com or whatever you wish to call your new site.
Then, once you pick a name, pay (use paypal it's cool), get your login/password to you site, setup some email accounts, and check out your cpanel site tool, then it's time to set up Blogger.
Goto Blogger.com, set up an account, pick a layout (you can change it l8r), and setup your ftp info back to your ftp://sitename.com, you can publish say about six new blog entries in this order: First, an entry for your 'About Us' page. Then one for your 'Contact Us' page, then one for your 'Mandate/Mission Page' and so on.
You can link individually to each of these pages, save the link URL, then paste in into your template and like this: About Us
in the column to the left or right of your page, and these links will be displayed much like the conventionally built site.
Save the template, remember to Preview it first, make sure it is coherent.
Bob's your uncle you just made a web page. Maybe stick a picture in the column, or logo, voila!
Now publish new entries about your org or self and put pics on, easy and simple like.
Here is the result of doing this, the IMAC website I built.
