Audio Device Insertion Event

Bless my grits! I broke my mic-in/line-in cherry today on my new Dell B130, the first time in my life I bought the same brand notebook twice. I like Dell. The B130 is entry level, starts at $499 US. In dell.ca I can't find a B130, only a B120 at $599.
Anyway, it's a quiet, tough box for the road, and all Nortel RFT's use Dell, so I'm halfway in the boat that way. I heard Nortel is switching to HP Pavillion soon. I heard another loud Toshiba today, so it's not just my A75 that is loud and hot. If it hovered while it made that jet noise, well maybe I'd like it then.
